Haas Strategy Solutions was born from a lifetime of connecting science, systems, and strategy. My first training was in field ecology and evolutionary biology, where I learned how organisms and populations adapt to shifting environments. That curiosity about how systems evolve led me into city and regional planning, and later into energy policy, where I helped model the entire U.S. oil and gas system. Each step taught me that survival and success depend on seeing the whole, not just the parts, and the future, not just the past.

I then moved beyond energy into management consulting, focusing on operations, systems design, governance, and strategy. I worked with government agencies, nonprofits, and companies in diverse industries that faced challenges that could not be solved by one discipline alone. Over time I saw that most organizations did not need more plans. They needed ways to make choices in complex, uncertain environments. My 20 years as an ethics officer revealed that the biggest risks in business arose when individuals and organizations remain siloed from their colleagues and partners.

That recognition drove me to cofound the Association for Enterprise Growth, an ecosystem of advisors in diverse disciplines helping mid-market CEOs. It confirmed my belief that in an increasingly complex business environment, business challenges must be addressed by bringing together specialists from multiple disciplines.

Haas Strategy Solutions is the next logical step. We advise executives and boards how to craft strategy in its pure form, instead of "strategic plans" masquerading as strategy. This prepares leaders to clarify direction, test assumptions, and anticipate disruption.
